Finding the people and resources you need to take on energy management initiatives in your company can be difficult, given all the other competing priorities. You now have an opportunity to hire a dedicated Energy Manager who can take on those responsibilities - identifying energy saving opportunities, developing energy plans, applying for program-related incentives, setting up company energy committees and building business cases to support company investments in energy-efficiency projects.
Energy managers can be funded based upon the following criteria:
- Funding of up to 80 percent of the energy manager’s annual salary, plus reasonable expenses of up to 80 percent per year;
- Energy manager must identify 0.3MW in demand and 0.3MW x Facility Load Factor in energy, savings each year. Of this, 33 percent of savings must be non-incentive related;
- Must be hired by your company;
- Must enroll in energy management related training programs;
- Must develop an energy management plan and provide periodic reporting.

These managers are employed by a Hydro Ottawa and are available for a defined period of time to help get started in identifying opportunities, developing energy-management plans and completing incentive applications.
