How will Time-of-Use rates affect me?
Hydro Ottawa is committed to making sure our residential and small business customers have the information they need to adjust to Time-of-Use rates.
You will receive an information package by mail before you transition to Time-of-Use. At that time, you will also be able to view your electricity consumption online broken into the three price periods. Hydro Ottawa’s online tools are designed to help you make decisions about shifting your consumption, conserving energy and controlling costs.
These tools can be accessed through MyHydroLink, your online self-service connection to Hydro Ottawa featuring secure access to your consumption data, bill balances, payment history, and E-Billing. Soon, this online customer portal will allow you to view your electricity usage in hourly, daily and monthly increments – in an easy and intuitive way.
How much will it cost to run your clothes dryer, dishwasher or air conditioner when time-of-use rates come into effect? Take a few minutes to test various appliances in the rooms at 10 Smart Meter Lane. You’ll be able to compare the costs of running appliances at different times of the day and week. It’s a great way to learn about your own consumption patterns and how small changes can add up.
