What is unit metering?

Unit metering involves installing a separate electricity meter for each unit in a multi-unit property, like an apartment building or condominium. Instead of a single bill for the entire building, each unit gets its own bill based on its own electricity use. This approach offers several advantages:

Fair billing

Each unit pays only for the electricity it consumes.

Energy management

People tend to manage their electricity use more actively when they’re directly responsible for the cost.

Simplified administration

Unit metering can streamline billing and prevent disagreements over shared utility expenses.
